Choices...

We begin life with choices made by others... Initially as children its imperative. Then its habitual. More so with Indians I believe. This is comparing India with the west ( Read US). Whether its no elbows on the dinner table or no cable TV while in school or why think of earning while learning...there are a plethora of stereotype thoughts that we are exposed to. And gradually like a fettered baby elephant that never tries to run loose even after it has grown up and attained the body strength for it, we live by "rules". Somethings are genuine concerns passed on by people who have first hand experience while some are plain fears. Fear that has either come from failure (needless to say that comes from lukewarm efforts or no efforts at all) or from a worse form of fear, fear of moving away from the already discovered path to success, fear that a aberration will lead to a miss. I call the second form of fear worse because it even denies you the opportunity to experience of "having tried". I strongly believe that when i will be old i am going to regret not having tried a lot of things than the things that i tried and failed at....

Anyways coming back to the burden of opinions that usually get thrusted upon every single person who is a novice...Experience adds a lot of value to those who own it. Rest of them can only pretend to bask in its brilliance. So when you have an idea you have got to protect it, sometimes from others who tell you it wont work and sometimes even from yourself. Because despair begins from within. You might blame people around you, circumstances, luck or whatever you want to call it. But the fact of the matter remains, we are what are choices make us!
